What is the purpose of the Ambassadors Conference?

The Ambassadors Conference offers students who have participated in a Philanthropy Lab course during the current academic year an opportunity to represent their university and chosen Nonprofit Organization as a member of The Philanthropy Lab Advisory Board. Ambassadors will utilize their expertise and deep understanding of the grant-making process to debate with other Ambassadors on the Advisory Board and ultimately to decide how to award $150,000 in grants. 

 

What is the structure of the Ambassadors Conference?

Pre-conference, participants will attend three mandatory Zoom calls. After arriving at the conference in Fort Worth, the days will be long but rewarding. The conference opens with a mixer and dinner on Thursday evening. Sessions and workshops begin first thing Friday morning and will continue through lunch time on Sunday. There are scheduled social events on Friday and Saturday evenings, providing opportunities for Ambassadors to get to know each other and explore Fort Worth! 

 

Who is eligible to attend the Ambassadors Conference?

Any university partner student who completed and passed The Philanthropy Lab course at a partner university in the current academic school year is eligible to apply to the Ambassadors Conference. 

 

How many Ambassadors will be at the Conference?

30 Ambassadors will be accepted to serve as Advisory Board members at the Ambassadors Conference.

 

What is the cost of the Ambassadors Conference?

In recognition of the service Ambassadorsd perform as Advisory Board members, all expenses for attendees will be covered by the Philanthropy Lab, including travel, hotel, and meals.
