Responsibilities of a GWB Member

  • Receive grant writing training and support from The Philanthropy Lab for the duration of the program

  • Dedicate 8 hours a month to find and write grant applications

  • Gain experience in the fundraising and grant writing side of the nonprofit sector

  • Help organizations raise money and increase impact

  • Collaborate with and train alongside other student reps form Universities across the country

FAQ

Am I able to particpate in this program if I've graduated?

Yes, absolutely! The program is manageable as a full-time student or full-time employee.

 

How long will the program be?

Training and Onboarding- August 2024

Duration- August 2024 to May 2025

 

Do I need to reach out to my organization to see if they are interested in working with me? 

Not yet, but you will after your are accepted to the program! We will give you the tools you need to communicate what the program is to your organization. 

 

What is the time commitment?

The program will be on your own time, with monthly calls to collaborate with the other students on the GrantWriting Board. We expect participants to commit to 8 hours of independent work each month. 

 

How will I get compensated?

Each time you complete a grant application, you'll select how you'd like to be compensated for any grants that receive funding (10% to you or 20% to your partner organization).

For any grants you write that the organization receives, you will forward us the email with the confirmation of the award and award amount. Once we get confirmation your partner organization received payment, we will process your 10% or 20% decision.
